The Homeless Youth Capacity Building Project’s Financial Assistance Program is designed to support capacity building activities that further the long-term viability of organizations that serve homeless youth. Successful applicants for financial assistance will be Network Members that request support for funding activities in five technical assistance areas: organizational development, program development, collaboration and community engagement, leadership development and evaluation of effectiveness. The financial assistance grant is not designed to support the provision of direct services, fundraising, medical services or construction activities.

To apply for the Homeless Youth Capacity Building Project Financial Assistance Grant, you must:

First apply and be accepted to the Homeless Youth Capacity Building Project Network.

Be an organization located in one of the seven identified distressed counties included in the Project (Alameda, Fresno, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Francisco, or Santa Clara).

Be an organization that assists homeless youth or youth at-risk of homelessness, ages 16 to 24, in one of the seven identified distressed communities.

Specify how the organization will be better equipped to address broad economic recovery issues in your community as a result of the grant.

Provide a rationale for the requested funding level for a specified capacity building activity.

Specify how the organization will use its enhanced capacity to contribute to the greater homeless youth community.

Agree to comply with the requirements of the Strengthening Communities Fund Nonprofit Capacity Building Project.
